Our Story

Alpha Tango Aviation traces its roots to Salty Pelican Aviation, a general aviation maintenance provider serving aircraft owners and flight schools in Central Texas.

In 2022, George Atilano joined the company as Director of Maintenance after being recruited from a Cirrus Authorized Service Center in the Dallas area. His reputation for technical expertise, responsive service, and meticulous workmanship helped attract aircraft owners from throughout the region and fueled significant growth in the company's Cirrus maintenance business.

In June 2026, George invested in the company and assumed operational leadership, beginning its next chapter as Alpha Tango Aviation.

Today, ATA is expanding its capabilities and facilities while remaining focused on the principles that built its reputation: quality workmanship, responsive communication, and long-term customer relationships based on trust.

George Atilano

George Atilano is President and Owner of Alpha Tango Aviation and has more than 18 years of aviation experience spanning military aviation, Part 135 operations, Part 145 repair stations, and general aviation maintenance.

His career began in 2008 with the United States Army as a UH-60 Black Hawk mechanic, crew chief, and door gunner. He later earned a Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Maintenance Management along with his FAA Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic Certificate, Inspection Authorization (IA), and Private Pilot Certificate.

For nearly a decade, George has specialized in the maintenance and support of Cirrus aircraft while building a reputation for technical expertise, honest communication, and responsive customer service.

Today, he leads Alpha Tango Aviation with a straightforward philosophy: treat every aircraft with care, communicate honestly, and earn the customer's trust one maintenance event at a time.
